CHERYSH INSTITUTE FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

With a view to promoting education, employment & employability, SYD in collaboration with CherYsh Foundation and the Goa College of Home Science has recently launched The CherYsh Institute of Women Empowerment.

At present, there is only one College ie. The Goa College of Home Science, a government college in the State of Goa which offers a 3 year degree Course i.e. B. Sc. in Home Science.

With the objective of promoting quality vocational education, SYD has launched a Certificate course in Home Science and Life Skills in collaboration with the funding partner - CherYsh Foundation, which is be situated in the premises of SYD at Sanjeevan, Nagueshi, Bandora

CherYsh Foundation is a registered non-profit Trust based in that works with women, children and youth to create an ecosystem where nourishment, education, and training, pave the way for livelihoods. Founded by Richard Saldanha, Michael D'sa and Fr. Harold Vaz, CherYsh Foundation is the dream of members of an extended diaspora whose ancestors came from the Konkan region of the Western Indian Peninsula. The families of the three founders have long served the community and the country. At the core, CherYsh believes the journey of life to livelihoods needs to be strengthened, and a strong ecosystem nurtured, such that channels to ensure nutrition, primary education, vocational training, and livelihoods are enabled and connected.

The Broad objectives of the course are

  • Sensitizing the learners towards their role in Family and Society.
  • Imparting knowledge and skills that would help them towards a life of dignity at home and would provide them opportunities of employment.

Eligibility :Std X pass
Fees :Rs. 2500/- p.a
School hours :8:30 am to 1:30 pm (Monday to Saturday)
Intake capacity :30 students
