SELF HELP GROUPS-
Assistance in formation & running of a self help group
SYD has assisted in the formation of seventeen self help groups comprising women in and around
Ponda Taluka.
Guidance is provided in areas of production and marketing of various products. The entire
endeavor is directed
towards making women self reliant. They are also trained to efficiently handle the
administrative and financial
aspects of running an enterprise.
Several skills development/entrepreneurship camps and exhibitions to market finished products are held from time to time within and outside Goa.
Sanjeevan Emporium located in the administrative block is a space reserved entirely for production and also serves as a marketing outlet for these products. Some of the products exhibited for sale are pillow cases, baby dresses, hand bags, jute bags, scarves, pickles, papads, coir articles and other homemade food items.
